Scream Queen Filmfest Tokyo

Scream Queen Filmfest Tokyo (SQFFT) is a film festival dedicated to showcasing and promoting emerging and established female horror, SF, and dark fantasy genre filmmakers. Launched in 2013, and held annually in Tokyo with tour screenings around Japan throughout the year, SQFFT is passionate about sharing unique and diverse visions that female artists bring to the genre. To support and celebrate the art and cinematic contribution of women genre filmmakers from around the world, I was commissioned to create some art pieces for the 2016 festival.

During the event my works were exhibited at the Uplink gallery Tokyo. The illustration below is a expression of both the concepts of ‘Scream’ and ‘Queen’. Many customers who came to the festival to watch the movies enjoyed my pieces.

『東京スクリーム・クィーン映画祭』は、世界中から集められた女性監督によるホラー、SF&ダーク・ファンタジー作品にスポットを当てた映画祭です。 2013年に立ち上げられて以降、毎年東京で開催され、年間を通して日本各地でツアー上映が行われている映画祭は、女性アーティストがこのジャンルにもたらすユニークで多様なビジョンを共有しようと注力されています。世界中の女性映画製作者のアートと映画界への貢献をサポートして盛り上げるために、私は2016年のフェスティバルのためにいくつかアート作品を制作するよう依頼されました。

イベント期間中、私の作品はアップリンクギャラリー東京の会場に展示されました。下のイラストは、映画祭のタイトルである「スクリーム」と「クイーン」の両方のコンセプトを表現したものです。会場へ映画を見に来て下さった多くのお客様に作品も楽しんでいただきました。
